Bridge Chaplaincy and
the Reno Posse

Feeding Our Hungry Neighbors

Bridge Chaplaincy has been honored to unite with We Care, a non - profit organization of 10 years, founded by Amber Dobson, who was relocating out of state. We Care, along with The Reno Posse, was founded by Jane Dunn 7 years ago, and the Bridge Chaplaincy has collectively served thousands of meals to those in need over the last 10 years.
We work with The Reno Posse and amazing volunteers to continue to serve meals weekly. The dynamics of the program had to change due to Covid and City Regulations, but we didn’t let that deter us from moving forward.
The wonderful volunteers each share in a different aspect of delivering meals to the underserved. We have shoppers, remote cooks and bakers, baggers, and those who take the food out into the community.
The volunteers and support for the program come from a diverse community of other churches like UUFN, Reno Buddhist Center, corporate donors, farmers, and hunters plus, donate food, funds, supplies, a kitchen, and places to assemble the bags.

We are not only feeding bodies, but we are also feeding souls, who are so assisted by being treated with kindness and compassion as we interact with each individual.
Our goal is to continue to expand these programs as our funding allows.
